Destiny Garcia ’28
Meet Destiny, a proud biology major. Her passion for Carthage comes from many places, from stunning lakefront views to small class sizes that make learning personal and engaging. She is gaining hands-on experience through her on-campus job as a biology lab assistant and by utilizing the College’s award-winning career center to secure external internships.
Joanna Alvarado ’28
Meet Joanna, a public relations major. She values the small class sizes that help her connect with professors and enjoys getting involved in campus clubs and activities, where she’s made friends and found her place in the community. She also praises Carthage’s location between Milwaukee and Chicago, which provides many opportunities for her professional future.
Dom Luzwick ’27
Meet Dom, a musical theatre major with a minor in theatre directing. Dom appreciates being able to explore his varied interests at Carthage. He’s participated in arts performances, music ensembles, the cheer team, and much more. He also enjoys learning from faculty who bring real-world industry experience into the classroom.
Basil Kiracofe ’27
Meet Basil, a political science and studio art double major. Basil gained public speaking and debate skills as a member of the Mock Trial team, secured an internship with the Public Defender’s Office with the help of their professors, and is able to explore their interests through the different opportunities and student organizations at Carthage.
Carter Pettey ’27
Meet Carter Pettey ’27, a proud a finance and mathematics double major with minors in economics and data science. Carter values Carthage’s support for pursuing multiple areas of study, enjoys getting involved in clubs and international travel experiences, and praises The Aspire Program for helping him secure a summer internship at Abbott Laboratories.
Andrew Czysz Jr. ’27
Meet Andrew, a communication major with a minor in sport business. As a commuter student, Andrew appreciates Carthage’s location near his hometown, which allows him to stay connected with his family while pursuing his degree. He praises the Communication Department’s diverse courses, which let him explore a range of topics, and he is gaining hands-on experience in sports media as a broadcast journalist for the .
Savannah Cooks ’26
Meet Savannah, an English and communication double major. Savannah really enjoys how friendly and inclusive the campus community is. Her professors and classmates in her departments are supportive and make her feel valued, while campus organizations and the Office of Engagement and Inclusion help her feel a true sense of belonging. On top of that, she can’t help but admire the incredible beauty of campus!
Payton Lange ’26
Meet Payton Lange ’26, an allied health science major with a concentration in pre-occupational therapy. At Carthage, Payton values opportunities to participate in Greek life and student organizations, where she builds community among her peers. She appreciates the breathtaking views on campus — spending time at the beach, looking out at Lake Michigan, and enjoying the trees. Payton is also building her résumé through on-campus jobs and career workshops, as well as an off-campus healthcare internship she secured through The Aspire Program.
