Here’s a look at just a few of students’ favorite clubs on campus!

Black Student Union
The Black Student Union (BSU) provides leadership opportunities for students and hosts activities that provide social and academic enrichment. BSU is open to anyone at Carthage as they aim to build respect and tolerance between all races to solidify a unified bond between all students.
“I am involved in Carthage’s Black Student Union. We use the organization as a place to unite and uplift the minority community at Carthage, while welcoming people of all cultures. We host activities and events to listen to music, have fun, and get to know others!” — Malia Green ’26

Book Club
Do you love to read? Do you wish you had more bookish friends? Do you ever read a book and wish for nothing more than to talk about that book with someone else who’s read it? The Carthage Book Club is for you! We read books that you vote for, so come and propose a book idea! The club is for anyone and everyone who wants to share their love of reading with someone else on campus.
“I am involved in the Carthage Book Club. We read a different book each month and do bookish crafts! It is very fun and great for artsy bookworms.”— Karis Bryant ’29

Carthage Activities Board
Carthage Activities Board (CAB) is one of the largest student organizations on campus. CAB selects, plans, promotes, and produces fun and entertaining campus events every week! CAB is one of the best ways to get involved at Carthage. When you join CAB, you will get to decide on what events are brought to campus, and you get to then be a part of all of the planning and hosting of each event too. And let us not forget about all of the friendships made along the way.
“CAB’s atmosphere is very welcoming and full of fun! We are involved in hosting many of the exciting events happening on campus.” — Arthur Pisanko ’26

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is Carthage’s largest and most involved service-based student organization. Members provide services in the greater Kenosha community by volunteering to build homes, plan fundraisers, participate in events, and much more. Additionally, students even have special opportunities to travel to other states to assist in national Habitat for Humanity initiatives.
“By building affordable houses, providing food pantry meal service, sorting and donating clothing, and teaching kids about the importance of mental health and career planning, we’ve done everything possible to make the areas around us a better place to live.” — Shane Hermsen ’27

Japanese Club
Japanese Club focuses on introducing Carthage students to Japan’s religion, lifestyles, festivals, literature, etc. Open to everyone, the goal of the club is to teach students about Japan through meetings, activities, and field trips.
“I am in the Japanese Club — it’s a great way to explore Japanese culture outside the classroom. It’s a fun and welcoming group that brings students together for events, and it is also a great community to make new friends who share similar interests.” — Julia Garner ’28

Merely Players
For students looking to break out of their comfort zones or interested in the improv side of comedy, the Merely Players is the group for you! Auditions are at the start of every semester and practices focus on building performance, comedy, and improvisational skills.
“I love going to Merely Players practices with my friends and getting to be silly on stage with them. Learning all the games and getting to be myself on stage has been so much fun. I can’t wait to perform at my first show soon!” — Emma Faucault-Miller ’27

Stamped With Love
Do you want to do a thoughtful service that directly impacts someone’s life? Stamped With Love’s main mission is to spread kindness and encouragement to children going through hardship. Through this volunteer experience, students craft handmade cards with uplifting messages to send to pediatric hospitals across the country.
“Stamped with Love has been a leadership opportunity for me as a freshman. It has been a great way to help my community and children across the country. I know that I wouldn’t have the unique experiences that Carthage offers anywhere else.” — Bella Howard ’29

Women in STEM
Women in STEM is a group dedicated to creating a safe space for women in STEM majors at Carthage. They work to create community and learn about what it means to be a woman in STEM.
“Hearing from peers in my cohort that they wanted support as a minority in the STEM area encouraged me to create a space for everyone interested.” — Anna Polietaieva ’27
