Request Equipment

Current Carthage faculty and staff are allowed to check out computing/camera equipment from the Hedberg Library Circulation Desk. Equipment is available on a “first-come, first-served” basis.

  • All equipment has a 7-day checkout period. No extensions will be given unless the user has made arrangements with library staff. Please email help@carthage.edu with questions.
  • Circulating equipment may not be renewed. After returning a borrowed item, a user must wait one hour before checking out the same type of item to allow other students a chance to utilize the equipment.
  • Faculty/staff checking out equipment from the Circulation Desk are subject to a replacement cost fee if the equipment is not returned by the due date. LIS may charge the faculty/staff member’s department for the replacement cost of the item.

REQUESTS FOR LONG-TERM EQUIPMENT BORROWING FOR FACULTY/STAFF

Faculty and staff sometimes need a piece of computing equipment for more than 3 days. In these cases, employees may request an item from Media Services. Please send an email to help@carthage.edu detailing your current status at the college (faculty/staff, full-time/part-time), the equipment you are requesting, and the dates needed. Media Services will contact you via Request Tracker. Equipment checked out from the Circulation Desk (with no communication with Media Services) must be returned by the due date and cannot be kept for a semester.

PURCHASING REQUESTS FOR FULL-TIME FACULTY/STAFF

Current full-time faculty and staff may request that computing equipment be purchased for them for permanent use while employed at Carthage. In some cases (part-time employees, lost items), the employee’s department may be charged for the item.

Full-time faculty/staff may request the purchase of items via the online form below or email help@carthage.edu
