Where will you go for J-Term?

J-Term, or January Term, is a special month-long period of study in which Carthage students explore subjects outside their majors or minors, discover new interests, and test their creativity through classes held both on campus and around the world. It’s a month to experiment, create, and dream.

J-Term 2027 Study tours announced: Where in the world is Carthage?

What’s the best way to study the religion and culture of Peru or explore the environment of Costa Rica? How about service learning in Honduras? Or the business industry of Sweden? Ask students who have traveled during J-Term, and they’ll tell you: The best way to explore a topic is to dive right in. See it — and experience it — for yourself.

J-Term: NO. 7 in the u.s.

Since January 1973, Carthage has offered students the opportunity to leave the Wisconsin winters to explore the world and learn lessons that can’t be taught in the classroom. The ongoing commitment to offer these opportunities is reflected in the “Open Doors” report published yearly by the Institute of International Education, which has rated Carthage No. 7 amongs schools in its category for participation in short-term study abroad.
