Violet Tucker ’28, an environmental science major, has made the most of her college experience both in and out of the classroom. In her coursework, Violet has gained practical experience through hands-on research and visits to water treatment facilities, strengthening her understanding of the field. With consistent encouragement from her professors, she is developing the technical knowledge and professional skills needed to pursue a career as a chemist in a water treatment facility. “The environmental science program really focuses on getting students ready for a career,” she says. “The professors make sure I have the needed skills for the workforce.”
