Biography

Jamie Serena ’21 is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marquette University. She enjoys working with college students from diverse backgrounds and is committed to creating a supportive, collaborative environment as she continues to develop her clinical skills.

Main responsibilities at Carthage

Jamie provides short-term, solution-focused counseling to students seeking help for various presenting concerns, such as anxiety, stress, depression, identity exploration, interpersonal relationship concerns, and more. She also meets with students, faculty, and staff for consultations around mental health and wellness. Jamie is a confidential resource for students.

Favorite thing about working at Carthage

Jamie enjoys the beautiful campus environment at Carthage, especially the lake views, and appreciates being part of a supportive community that promotes student growth and well-being.

Other interests?

Outside of counseling, Jamie enjoys playing piano and guitar, staying active, and spending time outdoors with her dogs. She also enjoys exploring new coffee shops and spending time with her family and friends.
