Biography

After graduating from Elmhurst University in 2014, Brandon Porter worked in Elmhurst’s Office of Admissions as a transfer student admissions counselor. In 2016, he transitioned into the sports world, working as a sales associate for the Milwaukee Bucks. During that experience, Mr. Porter realized how much he enjoyed working with college students and ultimately returned to higher education.

In 2017, he began working at Cardinal Stritch University as a transfer and adult student admissions counselor, primarily serving nursing students. In 2018, he joined Carthage’s Office of the Registrar and received a Quality of Life Enhancement Award from the College in 2023 for his dedication.

Main responsibilities at Carthage

Brandon Porter oversees course registration, graduation planning, course schedules, and transcript processing. He also serves on a number of academic committees that pertain to academic program development, as well as student success and retention.

Favorite thing about working at Carthage

“My favorite thing about working at Carthage is the atmosphere. I love where Carthage is located, but I also really like how connected campus feels with all the buildings being relatively close to one another. I also enjoy the people at Carthage. I have made some close connections to many people over the years, and I very much enjoy getting to know new Carthaginians.”

Other interests?

“I’m a big football fan, and my favorite team is the Green Bay Packers. I enjoy going to live sporting events and music concerts, and I write poetry in my free time. I have two kids so they keep me busy with lots of activities.”
