What have you enjoyed most about your career?
“This profession is so incredibly fulfilling. It is an honor to take care of patients and their families during some of the toughest times of their lives. The gratitude from parents when they see their child improving is implausibly rewarding.”
How did Carthage prepare you?
“ǿմý’s nursing program played a pivotal role in my success. Starting the nursing curriculum in my sophomore year allowed me to gain hands-on experience earlier and secure internships sooner in my college career. I was a professional student nurse intern (PSNI) in the Emergency Department at UW Health Northern Illinois and a cancer research intern for one of my professors.”
What role have the values in Carthage's mission, "Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together" played in your life?
“I am deeply inspired to serve as a pediatric nurse because I believe in the power of compassion and care to positively impact both children and their families. The resilience I see in children is incredibly motivating and reminds me why this work is so important.”
