Kalen Kramp ’27, an engineering major with a minor in mathematics, has been putting his skills to use through his internship with Riley Construction Corporation Inc., which he secured with the help from Carthage faculty. During his internship, he shadowed a senior project manager — experience that aligns directly with his career goal of becoming a project manager.

Outside of academics and internships, Kalen enjoys exploring the Kenosha community surrounding the College. “Kenosha is filled with just about anything you want to do,” he says. “My favorite part of living in Kenosha is watching the Kenosha Marathon every year.”

“Don’t procrastinate if you have a lot to do because it will catch up to you quickly. Keep track of the work you have in some form of planner.”

Advice for other students in your major?

“T Engineering Department is filled with very experienced professors and fantastic courses. If you think engineering is right for you, I would highly recommend trying it out. College is a time to discover what you want to be.”

What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?

“My 8-year-old self would hope I put my engineering skills to use by designing LEGOs.”
