Carthage Mock Trial completes 2025-26 season with highest all-time winning percentage
Carthage Mock Trial completed its tournament season at the Madison, Wisconsin regional Feb. 14-15.
Carthage Red set a record for the highest all-time winning percentage for a season with a record of 26-5-1. The Red team took home two first-place trophies and one second-place trophy during its invitational season. Ultimately however, they fell one victory short of advancing to the Opening Round Championship Series in Minneapolis.
Both Carthage Red and Black competed in the regional tournament held at UW-Madison. Twenty-six teams from across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota participated. Carthage Red competed against the University of Minnesota in the final round on Feb. 15. Both Carthage and Minnesota needed to win both ballots from the other in order to advance. Instead, they knocked each other out by splitting them, leaving both teams one win short.
Marcus Lemons ’27 won a Best Witness Award at the regional, finishing with 17 out of a possible 20 ranks. Marcus also won a Best Attorney Award earlier in the year. Other Best Attorney Award winners this season included Marcus Stubbs ’26 and Olivia Artman ’28. Marcus Stubbs, along with Galadrial Barrett ’29, also won Best Witness Awards.
