Geospatial science students capture drone footage of Carthage’s shoreline restoration
The Geospatial Science Department utilized their small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS or drones) to capture footage of the Carthage shoreline. The shows juxtaposed footage of the eroding shoreline in May 2020 and the renovated shoreline in Jan. 2021. This drone-based reconnaissance is in support of the College’s efforts to complete its shoreline restoration.
Videos such as this are one of the many applications taught in Professor Matthew Zorn’s course, GEO 1770: Small Unmanned Aerial Systems in Geospatial Science.
