Prof. Fatih Harpci Prof. Fatih Harpci Fatih Harpci, associate professor of religion, made two significant contributions to the scholarship around neighbors, Muslim humanitarian and charitable contribution, and COVID-19.

Prof. Harpci’s article entitled “Who Is My Neighbor? Contemporary Muslim Philanthropic Norms In Light Of The Prophetic Model” was published in the Journal of Muslim Philanthropy & Civil Society (JMPCS). This bi-annual, peer-reviewed journal in partnership with the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University is the world’s first school dedicated solely to the study and teaching of philanthropy.

Prof. Harpci also presented a conference paper entitled “Loving Your Neighbor in the Age of the Pandemic: Muslim Responses to the COVID-19” at the International Islamic Pastoral & Spiritual Care in the Global Pandemic Conference organized by Huron University and Respect Graduate School.
